WooCommerce 11.1.2 Security Update: Store Owner Checklist
September 23, 2026
WooCommerce 11.1.2 was released on September 22, 2026. WooCommerce marks it as a security update, says that it does not require a database update, and lists two changes: tighter validation for email-based product reviews and a fix for a product variation gallery regression. Store owners should plan the update promptly, then check the customer-facing paths that their store actually uses.
What to check before updating
Confirm your current WooCommerce version and review the official 11.1.2 release notes. Note any custom product templates, variation-gallery extensions, review integrations, or theme overrides. Make sure your normal recovery point is usable and that someone can monitor checkout and order email during the maintenance window. A security label alone does not tell you that your store has been attacked.
Update and verify the store
- Update WooCommerce through your normal managed or WordPress dashboard workflow. Do not interrupt an update in progress.
- Confirm WooCommerce reports version 11.1.2 afterward. The official notes say this release has no database update; investigate any unexpected database-update prompt before proceeding.
- Open a variable product on desktop and mobile. Switch each option your customers commonly choose and confirm the correct image or gallery appears without a broken layout.
- Check the review flow your store uses, especially email-linked review invitations. Verify legitimate reviews can still be submitted and that your moderation rules remain in place.
- Run a controlled test purchase using your existing test process, then check order creation, payment status, and transactional email. Do not use a live customer’s data as a test fixture.
If something breaks
Record the WooCommerce, WordPress, theme, and relevant extension versions before changing more components. Compare the affected product or review flow against a known-good staging copy if available. Restore through your established recovery process only after identifying the scope and preserving current orders; a broad rollback can undo legitimate store activity. Use the order-checking guide to verify that recent purchases are still present. Explore related WooCommerce guidance or ask Fix I.T. Phill WordPress support to help coordinate a careful update.
