WordPress sites using WOLF through version 1.1.1 need a security update. Patchstack’s published record for CVE-2026-108179 describes a high-severity SQL-injection issue and marks version 1.1.2 as repaired. The official WordPress directory also reports version 1.1.2 when checked for this guide.

The published assessment requires high privileges. This is not a claim that an unauthenticated visitor can compromise every WordPress site, and this guide does not establish active exploitation or a compromise of your site.

Match the plugin and affected version

Confirm that the installed plugin is WOLF, using the official bulk-editor directory entry to distinguish it from other editing tools. Record the version actually installed on each relevant WordPress environment. The CNA record lists versions from 0 through 1.1.1 inclusive as affected and changes the status to unaffected at 1.1.2.

Version 1.1.2 is the repair floor established by this advisory. It is not a promise that this release will remain the newest version or that every older WordPress or PHP environment is supported. Choose a maintained release that includes the repair and check the plugin’s current compatibility guidance.

Prepare a controlled WordPress update

  1. Identify who owns the plugin and who is authorized to use the site’s bulk-editing workflow. Review privileged access without granting new roles or sharing administrator credentials.
  2. Check compatibility with the site’s current supported WordPress and PHP versions. A directory minimum is a compatibility boundary, not a recommendation to run an obsolete platform.
  3. Use the site’s established maintenance and recovery process. Confirm existing recovery arrangements without changing customer backup schedules or creating an unnecessary full-account archive.
  4. Install the maintained repair release through the approved WordPress or hosting maintenance process and record the resulting installed version.

Verify normal content operations

After the update, confirm the installed plugin version and check the ordinary authorized content-management workflow. Verify that expected edits, content display and administrative access still work. Review unexpected application or database errors through the site’s normal monitoring and support process.

Successful operation does not prove that no earlier compromise occurred. Keep any investigation of suspicious activity separate from the maintenance check, preserve relevant evidence privately and involve the responsible administrator when further review is needed.

Keep the repair and security controls separate

A CDN or WAF feasibility review does not replace the plugin update. Protection cannot be claimed without proving the relevant traffic path, deployed rule version, false-positive review and rollback arrangements. This guide makes no deployed-control claim.

For ongoing maintenance ownership and escalation, use the WordPress support hub. Related guidance is available in the WordPress hub, security hub and hosting hub.
